VBS will be June 12-16, 2017 from 9 to 11:30 am. This year’s program is titled, “Where Jesus’ love is ONE of a kind.” The Weird Animals VBS experience is unlike anything your kids have ever done. As they are surrounded by God’s Word, the reality of God’s love gains new meaning and relevance to their everyday lives. Plus, they’ll have an amazing time trying out new games, songs, awesome science experiments, and more! Many different opportunities will be presented this year including a live animal experience, a service dog presentation and pony rides. We will welcome Wildlife Wonders from Cleveland, GA. This group presents an interactive educational experience like no other. What six animals will they bring to show us? Maybe an armadillo, or how about a chinchilla, or a joey? We will finish off the week with a hot dog celebration. Invite a friend to join you. Register your children early; you won’t want to miss this!

Keeping our families involved with the school has always been a priority of ours. We are very excited to tell you that we are rolling out a new program called Brightwheel, http://mybrightwheel.com a new communication tool that will be used in the classrooms. We know it’s tough being away from your little one all day, especially in these early years. With brightwheel you’ll feel connected and engaged with your child’s development on a whole new level.
Brightwheel will allow our teachers to capture special moments, take photos, and provide classroom information about your child’s day. No more paper will be sent home and instead you’ll receive real-time updates on your child delivered to your mobile device throughout the day.
We consider all information captured using Brightwheel to be a private communication between our school and our families. No personal information will be shared and as a parent you will only receive information specifically about your child.
We’re happy to answer any questions or concerns you may have about this exciting program.

Open Arms is happy to announce that we will be hosting a Trike-a-thon to help support St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital on Friday, March 31, 2017. Visit trikeathon.stjude.org to set up your child’s fundraising page, which will allow you to accept online donations from friends and family. Your child will also receive a Sponsor Form Envelope to list the names and donation amounts of those who are sponsoring your child. On the St. Jude Trike-A-Thon event day, you will need to make sure your child brings his or her helmet and riding-toy.
If you would like to support this cause, please let us know. We are looking for parent volunteers to help set up, assist the children and staff during the event as well as clean up the area that we will be utilizing. As always, we appreciate your continued support and hope that you will join us for the fun!

Please help me pilot a new technology for our school this year. Remind is an exciting program that will allow me to text or email you directly instead of having to go through the teachers. It is a one way mass text messaging system for parents and staff.
When a parent signs up, you will receive notifications from “Ms. Martinez” regarding weather delays or cancellations, special events, and/or any updates about the center.
It is our hope that this will help strengthen the home-school connection. Thank you!
