Open Arms Overview
Lutheran parochial education has over 130 years of rich heritage in the United
States. The Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod has over 1,700 educational units
in operation in all 50 states, including childcare and early childhood education
centers, elementary, high schools and colleges.
Open Arms/Alpharetta was established in October
1990 as a mission and ministry of Christ the
Shepherd Lutheran Church.
In July 2005, Open Arms was awarded the
prestigious accreditation by the National Association for the Education of Young
Children, a professional organization which promotes excellence in early
childhood education.
In 2002, the center was accredited by
National
Lutheran School Accreditation, and was also named a Georgia Center of
Distinction through the
Department of Early Care & Learning-- a distinction that is currently in
the renewal process. Open Arms is continually striving to provide the best
possible care for young children and their families.
